I knew that I had to come up with a plan to getting doors for my husband's home office, the kids were getting ready to be home for the summer! My husband and I stayed up one night trying to come up with a solution on what we could do with getting some type of privacy for his home office. We've been blessed for him to work 100% from home, with that, he needed privacy because of meetings, conference call, etc. So as I began to do my research, I came across an idea of "Barn Doors"! I showed my hubby a picture of what I thought about and why I felt that this would be the best solution without doing major construction to our home, he told me that he would have to see it. But, he agreed to try. Off to pricing I go, and found out that these beautiful barn doors cost a lot of
money! I mean, who wants to spend close to $4,000 on doors? I was in need of a miracle at this point. I had the vision, my hubby and I were in agreement on these beautiful doors....
Sooooo, my sister called me and we were talking about this guy that she wanted me to meet that she was dating, and made mentioned that he was a carpenter. Me, "Really!" My sister, "Girl, yes! He can build anything!" Me, " I need to meet him!" Long story short, he came over and I began to share with him our little situation and we immediately began sketching and planning. I wanted to show you what we came up with. The total cost for these door, including hardware, stain, wood, wood filler, was around $1,400.
(These doors were made by hand. Please forgive the low quality pictures!)
