My Inspiration!

Fashion, design, and food inspire me! I love things that are appealing to my senses. I love the shades of purple and grey! Yep, those are my favorite color combinations. I really adore the color eggplant. It reminds me of sophistication and royalty in my opinion. Just thought I would share some of what inspires me. Enjoy!

A Modern Fix For Home Office Doors!

I knew that I had to come up with a plan to getting doors for my husband's home office, the kids were getting ready to be home for the summer! My husband and I stayed up one night trying to come up with a solution on what we could do with getting some type of privacy for his home office. We've been blessed for him to work 100% from home, with that, he needed privacy because of meetings, conference call, etc. So as I began to do my research, I came across an idea of "Barn Doors"!  I showed my hubby a picture of what I thought about and why I felt that this would be the best solution without doing major construction to our home, he told me that he would have to see it. But, he agreed to try.  Off to pricing I go, and found out that these beautiful barn doors cost a lot of money! I mean, who wants to spend close to $4,000 on doors? I was in need of a miracle at this point. I had the vision, my hubby and I were in agreement on these beautiful doors.... Sooooo, my sister called me and we were talking about this guy that she wanted me to meet that she was dating, and made mentioned that he was a carpenter. Me, "Really!" My sister, "Girl, yes! He can build anything!" Me, " I need to meet him!" Long story short, he came over and I began to share with him our little  situation and we immediately began sketching and planning.  I wanted to show you what we came up with. The total cost for these door, including hardware, stain, wood, wood filler, was around $1,400.

(These doors were made by hand. Please forgive the low quality pictures!)

Summer Project

I just new that this summer was going to be a busy one.
I just had to make sure that my back patio set the tone and the brought energy to stay back there. One morning around 5:30 a.m., I had an idea! I knew that my sister and brother-in-law had a table and I wasn't quite sure if they still wanted it. I could not wait to ask.... 6:00 a.m. came and I picked up my phone and called my sister. "Good morning sister, sorry for calling you sooo early in the morning, but I was wondering what were your plans for that table in your dining room?". She replied " Girl, I'm going to give it away." Me, "I would love to have it! I have not been able to sleep thinking about what I could possibly do to it!" Sister, "You can have it!" I can go on and on with the conversation, but I got the table and she also gave me the wine/buffet as well. So I'm literally stoked at this point! I'm getting all of my ideas together and thinking about my supplies, thinking "It's on and poppin'!" So I'm going to show you what I came up with.
